What happens when two down-on-their-luck cops
from opposite sides of town come together to save the day?
SOUL GOLD is an action-comedy set in Los Angeles where two cops must put aside their differences to make the city’s biggest drug bust.
OZ (Malibu surfer boy & former X Games athlete) and HAYES (bellicose, by-the-book veteran from south central), get demoted to doing security work on the set of the hottest new global talent competition show.
While working the menial job, they continue to hunt for GIANG HUNG (an international drug lord), whose newest club drug, Crystal Myst, is killing party kids throughout the city.
ACT 1
After losing a key suspect and botching a long running drug investigation, Detective Maximilian Oswald (Oz) is demoted and sent to the 77th Precinct in South Central to partner with surly veteran, Dewayne Hayes (Hayes).
Hayes has recently started working security on the biggest global talent competition show, SOUL GOLD; created by failed British music producer turned billionaire media mogul, Randy Greene.
Randy’s notion for the show is to find the artistic and spiritual “gold” of each contestant’s soul by putting their extraordinary gifts & talents to test through intense bouts of competition, endurance, and teamwork.
After a day on set, and a night out partying with the show’s contestants, Oz once again comes face to face with Dragon, the perp who slipped through his fingers in the film’s opening scene.
After another fierce battle on the top floor of LA’s tallest building (and home to one of the hottest clubs in town), Oz seems to earn the respect of the show’s contestants; but he loses his target as Dragon jumps off the roof, revealing his custom wing suit; and flies off in an epic escape.
ACT TWO
The next morning, Dragon’s getaway is front page news and both Commander Thompson (Oz and Hayes’ commanding officer) and Giang Hung (Dragon’s uncle) are none too pleased. Plans are made for Dragon’s immediate return home and Oz and Hayes are sent to the Soul Gold set in Malibu, one misstep away from unemployment.
Before going to set, Oz convinces Hayes to go with him while he follows up on a clue discovered the night before at the club, and finds that the ultra-rare, limited edition Nike Skateboarding shoes he spotted Dragon wearing were actually fakes. After following the shoe lead to a high end store in Malibu Village, Oz & Hayes notice Giang’s henchmen trailing Oz’s Ferrari, ending in a high-octane car chase up the PCH, barely escaping with their lives.
Throughout the rest of act two, Oz and Hayes do their best to stay alive while guarding the set and piecing together clues about Giang’s drug & counterfeiting business. After tangling with gangsters in south central, Oz and Hayes discover one of Giang’s fake storefronts, inadvertently tipping him off and ending the act with a blowout firestorm on the tram in Palm Springs.
ACT THREE
Oz and Hayes survive the storm but get immediately fired from their security jobs at Soul Gold. After knocking on heaven’s door twice in one day, Hayes decides it’s time to move on and breaks up his bromance with Oz, who returns home to LA alone and unsure of whom he can trust.
As Oz meets with his boss at West LA, (Captain Sarah Stevenson), to learn of his 4 week mandatory suspension, his girlfriend (Katarina Kayanova), gets kidnapped by Dragon and another one of Giang’s henchmen, (Trong Tri) killing two of Kat’s friends in the process.
After another attempt on Oz’s life, Oz and Hayes come back together in a race against time to outwit a mole in the police department, save Kat, and bring Giang and his crew to justice. Ensuing an epic finale featuring psychic Kung Fu battles, helicopter firefights, 44 floors of free fall, and an adrenaline inducing car chase through the streets of downtown LA, the movie ends at the live taping of the “Soul Gold” finale at LA Live, with Oz & Hayes nabbing their man in front of TV cameras and millions of viewers.
Like any good buddy cop movie, this battle might just be the beginning of a bigger war as they hint of more antics to come.

BRAND INTEGRATION
With a major plot point revolving around a fictional, super exclusive Nike skateboarding shoe, Nike would be the perfect company with which to partner on this project. As part of the film’s marketing strategy, the shoe featured in the movie, the Soul Gold 1s, would become an actual Nike product, designed and released in concordance with the movie.
Given the action elements of the movie, multiple scenes featuring extreme athletics (parkour, skateboarding, roof running, wing suits, etc.), and two pivotal scenes which prominently feature one of their products, (the movie’s opening and 3rd act finale), GoPro would be another ideal company with which to partner on the movie.
Driven by one of our movie’s co-leads, Oz, the Ferrari California is noticeably featured throughout the film and involved in perhaps the movie’s most audacious car chase, with Oz and Hayes being pursued up the PCH at breakneck speeds by Giang’s hateful gangsters.
With the film’s action orientation, multiple scenes involving extreme athletics, and Oz’s background as an X Games athlete, Red Bull represents another ideal company/brand to incorporate into the film’s storytelling and with which to partner on the marketing of the movie.
Given the film’s Hollywood backdrop and Ciroc being the #1 brand for bottle & table service in LA, there are plenty of opportunities to seamlessly integrate the brand into the fabric of the story. The rooftop Hollywood club featured at the end of act 1, Kat’s gentlemen’s club & bar in act 2, and backstage at the Soul Gold finale in act 3, all present organic opportunities to feature Ciroc (or another premium vodka/alcohol) in the movie.
Brand Extension Opportunities
Global Talent Competition Show
The idea would be to create a Soul Gold global talent competition show based on the show in the movie, using some of our actors as well as other guest luminaries as judges. Through a variety of grueling tests and competitions, our contestants would be pushed beyond any previously known limits to mine their “gold”, the purest, most excellent expressions and oeuvres d’art that their individual and collective souls can create.
Nike Shoe
As previously mentioned, part of the project’s marketing strategy would be to partner with Nike to produce a Soul Gold 1 hybrid skateboarding shoe that would be designed and released in concord with the film. Perhaps the first release would be somewhat exclusive (maybe 100 or so for our actors and select others) and then we could follow up with a general release that coincided with the film’s opening weekend. For every Soul Gold movie made thereafter, a new edition of the shoes (the SG 2s, 3s, etc.) would be designed and released.
Soul Gold Music Festival/Tour
Part of the idea of populating the film with musical talent would be to leverage the power of their music & celebrity to not only entertain but also to transform the world. A Soul Gold Music Festival/Tour would be about assembling a group of artists, both from the film and others, to celebrate soulful, artistic excellence in multiple musical forms and bring the messages of beauty, unity in diversity, & love to the world. Part of the proceeds of the festival/tour would go to charities selected by our team of artists and crowd approved.
Golden TICK TOCK’S /IG Videos
As part of the movie’s marketing, we would launch a social media campaign (perhaps in partnership with TICK TOCK / IG) that encouraged people from all over the world to capture and document moments of themselves and/or others engaging in feats of excellence, both artistic and otherwise. As these “golden souls” were identified, some could then go on to be contestants on the Soul Gold shows, either in the movie or on television.
