THE FASTEST PLACE ON EARTH JUST HAPPENS TO BE AT THE BOTTOM OF A LAKE.

Car clubs from all over the world put it all on the line every year at the Bonneville Salt Flats Speed Week. Why? Because the dried lake bottom just so happens to be the flattest place on earth.

While Speed Week might be just one week long, there are 51 other weeks of the year where gear heads and car nuts wrench, race and rebuild as they push their speedometers to go as fast as they possibly can.

Salt Racers will highlight 4 car clubs that build the fastest hot rods, and we’ll follow them for the months leading up to Speed Week as they fine tune their rides, defy death, and push the limits - as they prepare for Bonneville.

The grand finale will take place at Speed Week, where our teams will put their hard work on the line to see how fast they can go. With official times and top speeds charted, will the cars perform at their best, or will they crash and burn?
